Ma-tek-po

Matekpo means "I jump, I jump," and considering this is my first blog, it represents my learning experience.  It also is a phrase that represents the vibrant "Agbekor" dance, and the beautiful Ghanaian children who sing and play along to its drumming.

  1. Hi Lisa, Your dance was a grear representation of a "warrior" and since we met and talked a bit yesterday, I was reminded of the rigorous load we are both undertaking in 613. As we are "jumping" into a brand new learning experiences,we are persevereing onward like every "warrior" should. Also, in regards to the Ghananaian rhythms and your interpretation of the "Agbekor" dance,it was energizing to watch. I also observed some "Zorba the Greek" kicking going on.

    Keep laughing...keep Merlot handy...Keep dancing...
